It seems there is no mike or mikes just for the symbols or low tom. I can't find which mike is picking up the crashes, rides, the overheads from this mixer page. I get up to about mike 10 and from then on they seem to have the phase, solo and mute buttons checked. kics on 1/2 out, snares, 3/4 hats on 5/6 etc.

I'm assigning the same drum mikes to the same out. Obviously there are several mikes for some kit pieces. I'm not using the mixer busses at this point. I go on to the mixer page and started soloing each mike to find out what it's pointed at, then started assigning them to different outputs. In this case it's one from the metal foundry expansion. I've inserted SD2 from the track menu, using the option to insert virtual instrument option, and said yes to it creating the routing for the 32 outputs. I'm currently trying to split out the kit pieces to their own tracks but think I'm misunderstanding something. SO as mentioned in other thread, I'm using the Access for Music script with S2. If I didn't already own what I own then SD2 would be an easy choice and a top contender. Can I pick you fellow Superior drummer users brains on this one please? If I didn't already own what I own then SD3 would be an easy choice and a top contender. The only things I would need/want in SD3 that I don't have are:ġ- if I wanted an easy way to record a real drummer and convert it to midi orĢ- if I liked the mixer and all it's features better than what I can do in my DAW- but I'm just so used to my DAW and my plugins that I don't see the need for the advanced mixer in SD3 because I feel my DAW is just as, if not more, advanced in that regard. I have Slate- and it also has great pre-processed sounds. I also have Rayzoon and haven't begun to learn all it can do. I have KU11 Ultimate- and haven't even begun to exploit all the Abby Road Kits. I also have AD2- I generally like the kits in AD2 better so while EZD2 helps me with the creation process, AD2 helps me with the "sound" I usually like best (not always though, I have used many of the EZD2 kits when they worked). I have EZD2- I love the composer tools this has for finding beats and coming up with your own.( SD3 has these features as well)

Should I be learning the art of mixing the drum sounds I already have or am I already confident in my mixing skills in this area and thus just want something new for the sake of inspiration?įor me it's easy. Have I exploited the drum libraries I already have to their full potential?Ĥ.

What does it do different than what I have?ģ. Don't give into GAS! I'm a big fan of Toontrack stuff but the questions I would be asking myself before a purchase are these:ġ.
